The Strength of Friends

I used to say it was easy to do the right thing, to be strong, for your friends. With the implication being that the real test was being strong for a stranger. Tonight I learned how hard it is to be strong for your friends.

When your friends become a statistic. When they become headlines. When the thing that could never, ever, happen to you, happens to them.
