I have had related concerns about traveling with a shofar. The instrument has been known to cause mass destruction (Jericho) and panic and riots (Gideon). Ram's use their horns for fighting. Etc. I have had airport TSA screeners look very carefully over my bags when they have contained shofarot. To date, none have been confiscated. See www.HearingShofar.com for more info.
